In 2018 we began working with Selwood - not long after they took ownership of their newly built site. They were looking for a long term digital partner to maintain and improve their existing site.
Selwood Housing provides almost 7,000 local, affordable homes for rent and shared ownership across the south west. As a charity, they reinvest their surplus into new homes, existing properties and their communities, with a long term view to tackling the UK’s housing crisis.
What they said
Modular have been fantastic to work with, we’ve worked with them on a number of projects and we’ve seen real success in each one. They’re easy to work with, professional, very knowledgeable and are always on hand to support us whether with simple questions or bigger pieces of development work.
Creating a triage tool
Since becoming Selwood’s digital partner, we have undertaken site-wide improvements; transforming the site into a tool that the Selwood team find easy to update and utilise. We’ve not only focussed on the frontend user experiences in our projects with Selwood, but also taken particular consideration into admin processes and workflows, ensuring that the team can make frequent updates efficiently and with confidence.
Part of our work with Selwood has included the delivery of a triage tool for repairs. Framing interactions in a proactive and positive light when establishing whether the problem was the responsibility of Selwood or the client has ensured the tools succes. The results have reduced unnecessary helpline calls and allowed users to self-serve online, in turn reducing the strain on the helpline.
We have also designed and created a new careers section that gives Selwood improved control over showcasing themselves to potential job applicants. A new suite of pages with carefully curated onward journeys has allowed users to explore what it is like to work at Selwood. Integration with an existing third-party service allowed vacancies posted on a jobs board to also be fed onto the Selwood site. This has helped keep style and visual language completely under the control of the client and prevented duplication of work.
Our relationship with Selwood so far has been hugely successful and we continue to support them in developing their digital platforms.
