We’ve worked with CABI over the course of a decade on multiple apps, interactive prototypes, databases and more.

An international, inter-governmental, not-for-profit organisation, CABI improves people’s lives worldwide by providing information and applying scientific expertise to solve problems in agriculture and the environment.

What they said

We’ve worked with Modular for several years on multiple projects and they have provided us with thoroughly professional and reliable advice and development that has stood the test of time.

Multisites, eCommerce and animations

Over the years with CABI we have built up a reputation as a reliable and trustworthy supplier. Creating and maintaining relationships across the organisation through the quality of our work alongside our forward thinking approach, we provide UX consultancy on a regular basis. The tools and resources we have developed for CABI are used across the globe.

Modular provided a range of very insightful content and strategy workshops followed by the redesign of our website and a full cycle of usability assessments. Since then we have been repeat customers for several more successful large digital projects. We have always found Modular very personable and very willing to understand our problems, helping us to find the best possible solutions for our requirements.

During our long-standing relationship we have worked alongside multiple teams within CABI and on various projects, including the organisation’s core multisite with over 150 CMS users, an eCommerce Bookshop integrated with Biblio, CRM integration, repositories of publications, resources and documents as well as campaign subsites and several blogs. We have also produced animations for their flagship programmes Plantwise and Invasive Species, designed and built an app for use by specialists in the field, and created pattern libraries for internal development teams to build extensible and user focused frontend interfaces for CABI database products.

We found that to communicate some of our more technical work, live action videos just weren’t feasible. Modular helped us design and storyboard a fantastic looking series of animations, which made our complex systems really easy to understand. They managed the production process well and we really enjoyed working with the team

We take a long term view of client relationships and believe that working together as a team leads to better quality and stronger results. We have learned to understand and be sensitive to internal organisational realities, decisions, pressures and relationships, enabling long term strategy and development.
